I really liked the previous CD of this band. Since their last release some things have changed. Vocalist Greg King is no longer in the band and the lead vocals are now done by drummer Jon Alfrey. Also gone is the catchy eighties rock sound of their previous album. The band updated to a more heavy and modern sound. This results in lower tuned guitars and harder grooves. Lost Angel strongest point were their catchy songs. On this new CD the songs are still catchy but in a different and more heavy way. Jon is also another kind of singer than his predecessor. His voice is more limited and more aggressive sounding. “Psychosomatic” is a radical style change, and I think the band will lose some old fans with this release but also gain some new followers. (7)
